Winchester (based on PR dates) first commenced using the superposed “WP” Winchester Definitive evidence mark in May well 1905, and continued to use it on most models from that time on. In my surveys, I have verified that day for the Model 1885, Product 1894, and Product 1897, and I think that Michael has confirmed the same over the Design 1892. Winchester appropriate from the beginning marked both of those the barrel as well as receiver.
